Washington, D.C. well-known muralist and illustrator Big Donno a.k.a. “KurtieTop” reportedly passed away by suicide on July 21, 2025. His tragic demise comes a year after he suffered a devastating loss with the death of his teenage son, Raaziq Williams. He was well respected in his community as someone with a beautiful personality and good heart.
Big Donno was something greater than a fixture in the city’s cultural landscape—he was its beat. His colorful, passionate murals brought vibrancy and expression to the streets, transforming bare city corners into beautiful testaments to identity, heritage, and perseverance. His artwork spoke for the thousands within the District, from community rec center walls to massive-scale public pieces.
He was also a rapper known for his works like “FIRST DAY OUT FREESTYLE” and collaborations such as “Leg on Me” with Splee Leg. He wasn’t just creating for himself. Donno made it a mission to uplift others, particularly young artists from underserved communities. He mentored dozens over the years, offering his time, talent, and hard-earned wisdom. The pain of losing his son, Raaziq, in 2024 was something Donno never fully recovered from.
