Ian Viscusi, 21, of Portage, the driver of the 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup, and passenger, Breyona Neff, 16, of Bon Air, Conemaugh Township, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cambria County Coroner Office. Neff was an 11th grade student at Conemaugh Valley High School, officials said.
The 11:30 a.m. crash shut down a portion of Route 53 in Summerhill Township as emergency responders worked at the scene on the 2800 block of Portage Street. The district said it is working to ensure that support will be available for students and staff when classes resume in August.
In addition, the district offered support for those in need and provided contact names and phone numbers. “Breyona was a cherished member of our school community, known for her artistic talents. We will deeply miss her,” the letter stated.
